Our Wedding

Maged and Lizzy met in Redding, December 2024. Maged was visiting Redding to spend time away with God as he prepared for an upcoming mission trip to South Sudan. Little did he know he would also end up meeting Lizzy! Lizzy still remembers meeting Maged for the first time at the Barnes &amp; Noble coffee shop. He was a gentleman, very intentional, and didn't waste time to let her know that he wanted to pursue her. He also gave her a box of chocolates, which she afterwards shared with her parents while telling them about the date she just had! After two dates in Redding, they decided to continue dating long distance. Maged was in Africa for about two months visiting family in Egypt and doing missions in South Sudan, but this didn't stop him and Lizzy from staying connected. After Maged returned to the US, he and Lizzy continued to get to know each other through video calls, texts, and taking turns visiting each other. Through this time their love for each other grew and they knew they were both pursuing someone special. Some might say that the almost 7-hour drive between Redding and Portland is too long, but it's worth it for the right person! Plus, the drive is pretty ;) Maged and Lizzy are excited to begin the next chapter of their lives together as husband and wife, and they are excited to start by celebrating at their wedding with YOU!

This is a special event! Please use this as an opportunity to be festive and dress up!Please note that Summertime in Redding is very warm and our ceremony will be outside, so dress accordingly. However, the reception will be indoors!

Please use the link for a discounted rate available for our guests until June 25th. This is a great and convenient hotel option if you want to stay at the same venue as the wedding. The Sheraton is also right next to the Turtle Bay Exploration Park, has a pool for guests and the Mosaic restaurant on site.

The Turtle Bay Exploration Park is a fun and family friendly spot with many things to do. You can walk along the Sundial Bridge, explore the botanical gardens, go for a stroll along the Sacramento River Trail, or even explore the museum! The museum features new indoor exhibits throughout the year, has an outdoor playground for kids, live animals to visit, and a seasonal butterfly sanctuary.

One of Maged's favorite spots! Local cafe restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are several locations in Redding. This one is downtown and the closest to the Sheraton hotel. There is also another good location next to Bethel Church (Maged's favorite one).
